Windows Intune

by Arun Subramanian , Product Marketing Lead- Windows Client

I am super excited about our new Cloud solution, Windows Intune. As you may be aware, Windows Intune launched on March 23rd and is now available to customers across 35 countries, including India. Windows Intune is an end-to-end Microsoft solution that brings together Windows cloud services for PC management and endpoint protection with a Windows 7 Enterprise upgrade subscription.

Over the last few weeks, I have had the opportunity to travel across India and demo Windows Intune to our customers & partners. And I am excited by the feedback I have got from them on our latest cloud solution. What appealed to a majority of them was the simplicity of the solution...the ability to manage the remote desktops via a web console and over an internet connection, and from just about anywhere. All within minutes. Yes, it is as simple as that!

Windows Intune allows IT administrators to manage patches centrally, protect PCs against malware with an inbuilt antivirus solution, monitor PCs with alerts, track hardware & software inventory among other things. Think of Windows Intune as System Center Configuration Manager in the cloud. At this time Windows Intune does not provide the ability to deploy an OS or applications. But over a period of time Windows Intune will achieve equivalency to our existing on premise solutions.

Finally, for customers who sign up for the Windows Intune subscription, they are eligible for upgrade rights to Windows 7 Enterprise. Windows 7 is the best-selling operating system ever, and with features such as BitLocker, BitLocker To Go, App Locker, Direct Access...etc, this is one great offer to pass up.

I encourage you to sign up for a zero cost 30 day intune download. All you need is a Windows Live ID.
