| What is a beta-test? |
| It is common to test the functionality of a software title before releasing the final version. After developing a software and testing it internally (alpha-test), it is important to check if the software lives up to the user's expectations. Also it is impossible to test all settings different computer-users may be preferring. So when a beta version is released, it is already public but may still need improvements and bug-fixes. As soon as all problems are solved, the software will be announced "final". |

| What does a beta-tester do? |
| A beta-tester runs a software and checks all of its features. If everything works well, the beta-tester's job was an easy one. If problems appear the beta-tester will become very important for the future of the software. The better the problem can be described with screenshots, error messages, computer configuration information, etc. the easier it will be to solve the problem and to make sure the problem will not show up again in the future. The better the beta-testers, the better the experience for other users will be. |
