5 Tips to Save Money

5. Use the Thirty Day Rule
When you feel like you're making an unnecessary purchase, you should wait 30 days before you make your decision. Often times, you will find that you will no longer feel that you need or want that item any more and you can save yourself money just by waiting.

4. Never grocery shop while hungry
You should always try to only grocery shop after you've eaten. You tend to buy less junk food as well as spend less when you go shopping when you're not hungry. This can make a big difference as food is one of the biggest monthly expense you have.

3. Try generic brands of items you buy regularly
Often times, the generic brands of items are no different than the name brand counterparts, except the price. Items such a medicines, cleaning products, and toiletries can sometime be bottled at the same factory, but put into different packages: one generic and one name brand. Just make sure that the active ingredients are the same.

2. Look for items onlineUsually when I shop in the store, I am only window shopping. Almost every item I purchase I can find online for a cheaper price. Make sure you buy from repuatable stores such as amazon.com.

1. Make Sure Your Tires are Properly Inflated
With gas nearing $5/gallon, making sure your car is in proper working order is important for keeping money in your wallet. Keeping your tires properly inflated to the proper psi (pounds per square inch) can increase your gas mileage considerably.
