Windows 7 completes one Year!
By Arun Subramanian,
Product Marketing Lead- Windows Client,
Microsoft India

It's been one year since General Availability (GA) of Windows 7. And what a year it has been. In this one year, Windows 7 has gone on to become the fastest selling Operating system in the world. As of early July 2010, we had sold worldwide over 175 million copies of Windows 7. That translates to approx. 7 copies of Windows 7 every single second!!!

In India, a number of organizations have embarked on rolling out Windows 7 across the enterprise. Organizations such as Bangalore International Airport, Infosys, GMR, L&T, Tata Tele Services, among others are some of the early adopters of Windows 7, and have seen some very clear benefits from having deployed Windows 7.

In a recent survey conducted among CIOs across India, approx. 80% of them indicated that their organization had either started or planned to deploy Windows 7 within the next 12 months. That to me is a resounding Yes to the new Operating System by Businesses in India. And I can only feel happy & excited about the times to come!
