Volume: 1, Issue: 02 - August 30, 2010 A Fortnightly Magazine for IT Professionals
Dear Friends,

A new way of doing old things and a new way of doing new things....sounds complicated? Well, I am simply talking about the cloud. Very rarely in technology lifecycles do we come across a set of approaches that fundamentally alter the way things will be conceived, architected, implemented and then managed across the board in IT environments. Cloud services/computing is one such paradigm shift. For us IT professionals, it is a tremendous opportunity to impact our businesses and services greatly.

While there is a lot of hype and messaging on all fronts around cloud computing, there are almost no entities that are addressing and enabling this opportunity for IT professionals from an end-to-end perspective like Microsoft. Our view begins simply by suggesting that "We are all in" with technologies that you have been familiar and comfortable with for many years. Exchange, SharePoint, live meeting and even Hotmail are some examples of cloud services that Microsoft has successfully been empowering you with for years. We believe in taking you on this journey to the cloud paradigm by understanding your needs and supporting you with the right set of resources and tools that will make this journey a great investment for your career, learning and ultimately growth. So in this edition we start with addressing a well- known territory - email. What does it take to do email in the cloud environment? What changes you can do? What new features can you exploit? All that and much more answered in this edition today...

Many thanks and happy reading...

The world is more complex than ever, and people need an easy way to simplify information, communicate it to others and ultimately make better decisions. Diagramming has always been a way to help organize information into easy-to-see, digestible parts. Whether on napkins, white boards or paper, diagramming helps convey thoughts and ideas. Diagramming is so popular that about half of all Microsoft Office users diagram. In the world of diagramming, Microsoft Visio stands out as a way to easily simplify complexity and communicate with others. In fact, over 15 million customers worldwide have Visio for diagramming as do over 70 percent of the global 100 companies. The focus of Visio 2010 is on ease of use, using SharePoint to share data-driven diagrams, and business process management. Our clients have leveraged Visio as platform, examples include MindTree using Visio 2010 and SharePoint 2010 for HR Utilisation Dashboard, Virgin Mobile India using Visio 2010 to improve Call Centre Management with Visual Performance Dashboard.
